Friday afternoon I started hearing about a mysterious message from Microsoft that warned Windows Live Mail users their systems wouldn't work "in a few weeks." They were exhorted to download and install a patch -- there's a link to KB 3093594 -- or upgrade to Windows 10 and use the new Universal Mail app (which is almost universally panned).
I don't think the article use the word "It freezes windows" correctly. I see no reference in that article about the patch freezing windows, from what I understand the patch disables windows live email program which some people have installed.

I have done a clean install of Windows 7 using Dell re-installation disk (Dell sent me one). I also use Free Macrium reflect backup and restore.

I keep wondering why people are installing that patch on Windows 10. It does state on the MS page that it's only for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. Even the email is pretty clear to me that the patch is only for 7 and 8.
I have the patch installed on all my Windows 7 pc's and it's caused no issues.
