Solved Best Browser for windows7 PC

Greetings

What is the best browser to use with Windows 7?

I was using google chrome but uninstalled it. Neither Adblock nor adblock plus was able to work after a while and there seemed to be so many other issues with my pc (including the inability to install updates, inability to successfully to a system restore, having the solid yellow triangle over the lock in the address bar where they were usually secure sites etc). I am trying, with your assistance, to get things working as they should again. This includes using the best possible browser for my system that will not compromise on security.

Whatever else you may suggest, I'd be grateful. Thanks.

That's a matter of opinion.

Firefox is a popular choice, but it is constantly being updated and many don't like the newer look.

I switched to Pale Moon, which is based on an earlier version of Firefox. I use Adblock Plus, Windows Update, and System Restore without any issues.

I haven't looked at Internet Explorer in several years, but would certainly choose it over Chrome as I don't like Google's way of insinuating itself into every aspect of my (computing) life.

You might try the "Classic Theme Restorer" add-on (it actually shows up in "extensions", and has an "options" button for you to customize to your heart's content), which allows you to return the visual features, design and layout of the earlier Firefox look as much as you want to, using its customization options.

Tools -> Add-ons -> Search -> classic theme restorer

Much like Anti-virus software this really is down to your preferences. I use Chrome, simply because I use Google docs on my Chromebook and I like to have my Chromebook synced with my home pc. But if it was not for that, I would likely pick Internet Explorer. As previously stated chrome has a way of... pushing itself on you, which is no issue for me as I use most of their stuff anyway.

In my opinion I think you should maybe try a few of them out and go for the one that you feel comfortable with because thats what is important in the end. Something that others may find epic, you may find sub-par and so on. Such is the story for many things in the technological world at the moment.

There is no reason why you can't have multiple browsers installed so go ahead and install several and try them out to see which you like. You may find that you like a certain browser for this task but a different browser for another task.

I personally have Internet Explorer, FireFox and Chrome installed. I use FireFox as my main browser but use IE when I need to access MS sites that require it. I use Chrome when I want to interact with my Chromecast device.
