When I last tried to install Hackintosh, I had numerous errors. When I was able to finally get it to "appear", I couldn't install it on the partition I made, because of a Hard Drive-related error.

Hmmmm.....well Hackintosh's usually come in 2 varieties

#1). A hacked ISO file which will allow you to run a copy of OSX on your x86 Intel hardware. Often times these hacked versions cannot be updated as they are non-legit and cannot be registered with Apple.

#2). A box with an EFI-X USB dongle plugged in which allows you to run a legit copy of OSX on your x86 Intel hardware....although it still violates the Apple EULA because it's not Apple hardware. These versions can be updated as they are legit copies...they are just running on alternative hardware. With this method, it only supports certain hardware...and the fact that you aren't running either a Gigabyte or DFI mobo is a show stopper.

I'm planning the build of #2 right now. I've got version 1.1 of the EFI-X ( http://www.efi-x.com/) dongle on pre-order from efix usb, efix usa, efix usb dongle, efix review, express pc, buy efix usb, efix usb v1.1, efix usb v2, efix i7, - EXPRESSHD.COM.

The dongle is $240 and Apple OSX is $129. So, that's $370 move than my hardware alone to run OSX on my recent build. My recent box was about $1000 in parts...so for less than $1400, I have a Quad Core CPU, 8GB of RAM, DVD Burner, 9800GTX+ video card, 1TB of HD space, with a 620W modular Corsair PSU, in an Antec P182 case.....more or less about the equivalent of a $3,000+ Mac Pro workstation for less than 1/2 the cost.

I know what OSX86 is, and how there's different builds. I'm just looking for the best .ISO file that matches my specs.

Ok, sorry. Wasn't sure if you knew and figured that I would post for the benefits of others who might be interested.

Overall, I don't have experience witht he OSX86 route as it's "hacked" and non-legal copies. I simply don't trust what somebody else might have done to my operating system. You might not get too many responses here on this forum as piracy is pretty much frowned upon and not tolerated.
