hello people
i want to configure windows bcd with bcdedit, my setup is as follow:

2 hardrives on first harddrive i have 4 primary partions (max allowed)
each partition have an windows 7 instalation
system reserved partitions already deleted,
boot files and bootmgr on partition 1
every time i boot on partition 2, 3 or 4 with their windows i get drive letter d, e and f respectively
i can only get c: drive on first partion
so i want to know how and what to change on bcd with bcdedit to make all systems assign c: to system root partition?
I have done it already on other computer at 4 years a go and cant remenber how and i have a backup of these bcd

thanks in advance

Were you running Windows when you started the installation of the other OS's that get the letters D, E, and F ?
That's how I've seen Windows get a drive letter other than C.
If you install Windows by booting the Installation Media each OS should always get the letter C when it is booted.
I don't know how, or if there is a safe way to change the OS drive letter after it is installed.
I would do a clean re-install, running the installer by booting the installation media.

Hi DavidE

Thanks for the reply, you see it is nor the first time that i´ve done this, I have also other computers configured like this.

What i intend to do, is, wen i boot on system 2 (windows 7 other version) that boot be fully made from partition 2, and same thing for partition 3 and 4.

The question is that I´m working on server and is not so easy to plug the media for installation there, or even mount a remote drive, because it seems that they can´t give me a decent connection, so i have downloaded an iso with windows 7, extracted the files from the iso to the second HD on server, made it active, and selected has preferred BBS HD on BIOS.
So i got the installation running, at this point, installed all my OS´s, and with robocopy have copied the bootmgr, and boot folder to partition 1 on disk were OS´s were installed, and deleted all bcd entries.
So at this point i started to write the BCD from scratch, first OS went well, made the partition active, changed the preferred disk back to HDD0 on BBS options on BIOS. Booted perfectly, and i could delete the partition from I installed the OS.
I used EasyBCD to add the other entries to BCD, also i know that i have made something but i don´t remember ho, on sys 3, because he is booting with drive system C:.
So is missing system 2 and 4, and i´ve tried to make almost everything, but i´m lost, i already have analysed the the backup that i have from BCD from another system and everything looks the same...
let´s say i delete every BCD entry´s again, what should i do so that my system´s all boot with drive system root C:, and totaly independent from each other.

Regards

thanks anyway, first time I have done this, ii used a manual
I don´t really know were to find it again.
Is there any way to import the BCD from another computer that is already with this configurations, and just change the ID from the partitions?

thanks
