I am in complete distress over the past week because my PC has been shutting down randomly and at times BSOD appears. The shutdown is bit weird because it can happen almost anytime whether I am watching videos, playing games, surfing internet or just on my desktop.

I have built this PC about one and half year ago and eveything in it is Brand new except for the processor which is 5 years old. I have overclocked the processor up to 3GHz but I have been running at these settings for over one and half years without many problems.

There can be many reasons why the PC is doing this such as Memory, PSU, CPU, Motherboard I just don't know where to start. I was first thinking overheating is the problem but I have monitored the temps and I have pretty good cooling in the case. My temps are avg 45 on the CPU when playing games at 3GHz overclock and 50 Max on the GPU.

I have now reseated the memory and excluded any potential bad memory stick and reverted back to default BIOS settings and will now be monitoring for problem but in mean time if some expert could shed some light on this issue I would greatly appreciate it and I am apologise for the wall of text.

I have been testing different hardware to find the fault and I think I may have discovered the problem. One of the RAM sticks is completely gone I think because I tested each RAM stick for boot and all three but one could not boot. So I tried this particular dim in all RAM slots on the motherboard but it couldn't even boot single time in order for me to perform memtest.

The window explorer crashes and boot faliure may now be explained by the fact one of the stick was faulty. So right now I am running with 3 sticks and the computer seems to be booting and working in the correct manner. However I will keep this thread open for few days until I am assured that the problem has gone.

Alright, let us know if you need us to analyze the reports. Sounds like you are doing just fine on your own presently. Nice work!

I have now been able to boot with the faulty memory and performed memtest and not very surprised with the results. There were more than 5000 errors when performing the test and to be on the safe side i tested the other RAM sticks and those came up with no errors. So now I have asked the faulty product to be replaced and just to let you know my computer is now functioning how it should do and boy I am glad about that. Much thx to writhziden for helping me out with I really do appreciate your support.

I did very little to help, but I appreciate your kind words nonetheless. :)

You did a great job on your own. Glad you were able to track down the problem module and start the replacement process. Congratulations!!

You helped me with BSOD before in which you recommended I remove GPU drivers and install them again which worked like a miracle. Furthermore you seem to be the only one replying to my threads so I do appreciate that however having said this it doesn't mean other people on here not helpful its just that you sees to always reply first. :)
