BSOD continually occurring out of the blue. 0x000000F4

Within the last two hours my computer has its first BSOD followed by another every 5min or so after turning it back on. It first occurred when I was starting a game of league or legends and got an update Java notification which when I clicked on, froze the computer and resulted in BSOD. From then on it can literally happen out of the blue when I am doing literally anything or even nothing but we have some consistency though because it seems every time I click a window on the bottom of my screen (to open the Internet or whatever) the computer will slow down to nothing then BSOD.

I haven't tried to see what happens in safe mode yet but I have opened up my computer, disconnected and reconnected everything but that didn't seem to help.

I will update with the log attached when I can get my computer to work long enough to do that.

I would really appreciate any advice, thank you!

Edit: computer seems fine in safe mode

UPDATE: ran windows memory diagnostic and it seems it is a memory problem

UPDATE: found the ram causing the problem

UPDATE: removed the trouble ram and used the computer for about 30min before it lagged out and then I got BSOD. I have no idea what to do It seems that the computer freezes when I click on a window tab at the bottom of the screen or try to close an application.

Ahhh yes, now I know why is was corrupt, it was because my computer cant make a dump during BSOD.

> I tried rebooting a different way after the restart by pressing F2 for my Asus motherboard and manually selecting the drive to boot to but found that my SSD was not even on the list.

So to me it sound like I had faulty RAM and also by some divine blessing I have a faulty SSD (C drive). I'd just like someone else's opinion on this and advice. I have about $2000 of software on this SSD and being the idiot I am, haven't made a back up recently enough to have kept all this software safe.

i7 3770k (not overclocked)
2x 8gb Cosair Vegngence RAM (removed one now though)
Asus p8z77-v LK Motherboard
C: 128gb SSD
D: 1tb HDD

Please specify the exact make and model of the SSD as me and a friend here suspect that it is the culprit!

The SSD is Transcend TS128GSSD720

I am buying a new SSD today and installing windows 7 onto that and shifting all my files from the Transcend to the new SSD. hopefully that works because I'm not made of money haha

Since it's a 0xF4 we are talking about then it could mean that there's a virus, a failing harddrive, failing RAM stick/s. Run the tool that came with your SSD. Also run MemTest86+ for 8 passes. SSD failed sea tools long generic test but passed all other tests
Memtest86+ failed at first but then passed after removing a faulty 8gb RAM stick
MSE installed and seems fine
Malwarebytes completed a full scan, removed 16 threats but BSOD still occurs

I don't know if there is a tool for the SSD as I diacarded all packaging and the transcend website doesn't even list this type of SSD so I can find any firmware to update or anything

Do not run SeaTools on SSDs. If MemTest86+ showed up even one single error it means that one stick is faulty. Remove the failing stick and run with the other one. But SeaTools if showing up a fail then your SSD is dead aswell. That was to be expected because it's a cheap-built chinese SSD made only for money and fail very quickly.

And see if there is anything about firmware update!

Thank you for your help guys I honestly really appreciate it! Which SSD brand would be a better option? I am planning to buy a new one within the next couple of hours at the local computer store.

Faulty RAM has been removed.

EDIT: There is a warning status symbol for the SSD on the Transcend SSD Scope program. Doing a full scan to determine issues.

Full scan comes up with a green tick (?)
There is still a warning symbol next to the hard drive.
Attempting any firmware updates
Firmware Updated to latest version

There are many good SSD manufacturers, with the best being Samsung. Any Kingston, ADATA, Crucial, Intel SSDs work fine.

Thank you very much Boris for finding that Transcend program for me. After mucking around for a bit I managed to understand what the program was telling me.

• The data in the SSD is fine
• The firmware was outdated and updating it seemed to help to computer not crash (no BSOD yet)
• The program has a feature to indicate the status of the SSD. Mine had a warning symbol.
• The program shows the "wear level" of an SSD where 100=new and 0= completely worn out
• My SSD status was at 0 (completely worn out)

I am going to the local shop to purchase a new SSD and transfer my files. IF anyone has any last minute advice for transferring file, that would be great but otherwise I should be fine from here out.
