Please remove ASUS software, it is known for causing problems with BSODs.

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

  1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
  2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
    • Double click the executable to open it
    • Click on the button shown below

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window

Hey axe0,

I had daemon tools and sptd uninstalled. However it still seems like I'm getting I/O errors (no more bsod though!). When symptoms come up, it's as if my computer fails to access the internet and many programs crash or log off (skype). Skype gives me a "Unable to sign in due to a disk I/O error" message when this occurs.

I'll copy some things that might be related from my event viewer:

"wuaueng.dll (600) SUS20ClientDataStore: An attempt to write to the file "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\DataStore.edb" at offset 1067155456 (0x000000003f9b8000) for 32768 (0x00008000) bytes failed after 54 seconds with system error 2 (0x00000002): "The system cannot find the file specified. ". The write operation will fail with error -1811 (0xfffff8ed). If this error persists then the file may be damaged and may need to be restored from a previous backup."

Also, seems like Google Chrome and Desktop Window Manager crashed.

"Windows cannot access the file for one of the following reasons: there is a problem with the network connection, the disk that the file is stored on, or the storage drivers installed on this computer; or the disk is missing. Windows closed the program Google Chrome because of this error....

Additional Data
Error value: C000000E
Disk type: 0"

Thanks in advance and happy thanksgiving.

We pretty much ruled out the drives themself, though not 100% as no software is 'bullet proof'.

Have the ASUS programs been removed?

Could you please change the cable of disk 0:
