Hi guys,

I've built many simple PC's for people, but upgrading my own in January was the worst thing I ever did! I've an Antec P180 case, to which I fitted a new Mobo, CPU, RAM and Gfx Card. The thing was so unstable. I ran out of time trying to fix it, so took it to a shop where they reinstalled the OS and all new RAM. It worked, joy.

Ever since it's always been a little flakey - occasional random reboots, BSOD's, failure to power up after sleep - but the last two weeks it has been terrrible (no hardware changes). After a repair install of Win7 made it no better, I went for a total clean install I had BSOD again within 30 mins - with nothing connected but mouse, keyboard, monitor + SSD and 2nd HDD.

It always seems to be when I am browsing online (even in safe mode!) - yet Photoshop, watching videos etc. is fine. The problem browsing is in IE, Firefox or Chrome; doesn't matter.

Today I ran all RAM modules through Memtest86 individually, all passed; then ran Prime95 for a few hours, then PassMark BurnInTest. I updated the SSD to firmware v2.0 from v1.1 this morning and enabled AHCI, but this hasn't helped any.

Can anyone see anything in the attached info that I may have missed?

I'm would like to return the mobo for replacement under warranty, but I can't demonstrate what is wrong!

First thing I see in your snips is mis-matched ram memory. Size & speed.

You have to wait for some other member to do your BSOD analysis.

How about a snip of each memory stick as seen in CPU-Z

*Slaps forehead* I never thought that would be a problem, as that's what the shop put in and I've never changed it, but you could be right!

As it happens, today I ran through all the RAM sticks I have at home and tested them all on a spare machine with Memtest on a Ubuntu USB. All the sticks the shop said were bad were actually good, except one. I jigged the ones in the problematic PC around so instead of 2x1GB + 2x512MB, I just have 3x1GB and room for another 1GB stick when I buy one. They are all the same speed (see attached).

20 mins stable so far, I'll have to see how it goes. Hopefully I've fixed this problem by accident! :p

When you get a 4th stick, make sure you match it with a Corsair brand & same speed.

You might want to check your system info with SIW (Freeware)
It shows good info also about MB, Memory, etc ;)

:ar: Buy SIW Pro or Download SIW Freeware

Well, buoyed by the hope that we'd found the problem, I reinstalled all my software and went about my usual online activities. All last night, no problem. This evening, no problem....then another BSOD

Report attached....can anyone help please?

Would anyone be able to spare a moment looking over my crash reports, please? I'd really appreciate it.

My finger is poised over the 'Buy now' button for another MOBO & RAM, but it'd be a waste if it's something simple to fix...
