Hello,

I`m getting BSOD UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP on Windows 8.1 x64 Professional on my HP DM4T-2000 LAPTOP, after I`ve moved the old HDD to cd-rom caddy and installed a new Kingstone SSD and a fresh windows 8.1.

I`ve installed the video driver from this file
Catalyst_14.12_Omega_UnifL_v1.0.exe
OR
Catalyst_14.4_WHQL_UnifL_v2.4.exe

In order to have support for ATI/INTEL video driver. But either way I`m getting BSOD...

Just to mention, the BSOD happens when I`m not active on my pc, if I go 5 minutes away, BSOS appears and restarts. If I`m active full time on my laptop, no BSOD happens..

I`ve attached the detailed dump if someone will be able to help me, I will be really appreciated.

Hello and welcome riley now this one might be better answered in the 8 forum mate it is run and most of us in the 7 forum are members there too.

But in the meantime I have seen some faults in those dump files but am not really sure what they mean because a search for that particular fault has a lot of references to XP?? I will ask for help.

Everstrike drivers are not listed as supported under Windows 8. You can experiment with an updated Windows 7 driver if you can find one, but I think you should consider uninstalling this software.

Kaspersky appears to be contributing to the issues - uninstall Kaspersky and use the inbuilt Windows Defender in Windows 8.

As Golden says my friend and for the record I have just got a new laptop that began life with 8 and had problems with my Kaspersky not what probably you are experiencing but if you decide to reinstall it then please use the 2015 version it has a lot of the bugs sorted out and is easier all round. Just so you know you can use the same activation code for it as the older version. But that is only if you decide to try it again.

Also for the record I had to update my BIOS for 7 drivers but you will need to check with HP on that matter.

Hello @Golden, @ICIT2LOL, thank you for your reply.

@Golden
About my HDD from CADDY, Yes I think I have some bad sectors because Windows was pointing me some time ago to save my data because my hard it having some problems.

You are suggesting to do a SeaTools and it will fix the hard-drive?

All the BSOD UNNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP are from the hard-drive? Or Everstrike/Kaspersky applications?
Just to mention, I already have the old windows 7 on my CADDY HDD, when I moved to win8.1 on SSD main + HDD to CADDY, I did not removed the old SO from the HDD, and if I test that windows 7 from HDD, eventought I`m away 3 hours, No BSOD happens...

If I will uninstall those two applications, I will be free of BSOD? :)

@ICIT2LOL, About Bios update, I did update my bios last year. About the bios, on HP laptops ( :( ), the bios is kinda locked... So I do not have access to other features, only boot options.

[EDIT]:
Also, other laptop installed drivers in issue founded?

No, not neccessarily, and only if its a SeaTools branded hard disk.....it will, however, confirm the extent of the problem.

I think its the software, not the hard disk. Both are listed as issues, but I have no way of telling whether its one, or the other, or both - all are possibilities. If I was to guess, I would say its more likely Everstrike clashing with Kaspersky....start by uninstalling Everstrike firstly, then monitoring for further BSOD.
