I´ll bet a fortune on that it is your memory. Double check voltages and timings. Try losening them and up voltage (don´t kill'em!). Being a core i7 your max mem voltage is 1.65V I think (also double check mem compatability with your MB, Gigabyte list them on their home page. Not exclusive list but might be helpful). You can also try swapping the DRAM into the two free slots and see if that works. But again, timings and voltage. Check mem makers homepage for settings!

Someone suggested Win7 / Gigabyte MB issues. There are no such issues. Run a Gigabyte MB on one of my Win 7 machines (P45 and E6600 though), no issues, but it is very picky with ram. I can´t populate all four mem slots, it will just freak out. And voltage / timing same thing, and I run high-end Corsair sticks that are compatable with MB...

I thought about voltages, but only problem is that he said he memtest. That is a lot more demanding then Windows will ever be. Let us know if you get another one and the error.

When exactly does this happen? Can you reproduce the BSOD? Always when doing same thing? While booting in to Win? Sounds very odd. Memtest is hmm iffy if you can´t set it correctly.

I would get Orthos for CPU stress (sure there is a i7 out there). And get superpi as well. Run Orthos at priority 10 with small FTFs. 10min should be fine. Once that is done, run it at priority 9 and Superpi some really big number at the same time. If you really want to stress CPU / MB you can ran some 3D windowed app (raytracing or whatever), superpi and Orthos (priority 9) at same time... Should tell you if it is voltages / timings / bios.

I've tried pinning both the memory and the ram, i cant reproduce it either. the firs time it happened i was running D2 bots (dont laugh) the second time my GF was on facebook and the third time was on itunes listen to music and the fourth time i was surfing the net there seems to be specific times or programs... hasnt done it still though which i find werid but also happy. Note hasnt happened since i ram memtest....? Oh and voltage is good on the ram i check it...

Maybe you unplugged them and plugged them in again? Might have not been in place properly. Happened with a PCIe card once that I thought was correctly mounted and then removed it and put it back in and VOILA!

If it comes back, VOLTAGES and TIMINGS!
