Hello,
I've been playing Dark Souls 3 since launch (11) and getting BSODs after a while of gameplay.
When the game came out I had the latest nvidia driver but was getting bad performance, so I downgraded the driver to a "magical version" that supposedly increased performance in older cards. During the installation of the older driver I got a blue screen error(I don't remember which error because this was the first time it happened). Since I did not get any better results, I went back to the latest version.
After this, I was getting constant blue screens after around 30 minutes of game, always the same error, stating "ntfs.sys".
Then I tried some other video driver versions but nothing got rid of the problem. Finally yesterday I formatted my C: drive and reinstalled windows(Dark Souls 3 is in the D: drive) with the latest graphics driver and had o problems. Today I got another BSOD, same error, but this time no ntfs.sys showed on the screen. My only idea is that the HDD is gone bad and needs replacing.
Before I reinstalled windows i did the chkdsk /r and nothing bad came up, however HDSentinel days the C Drive had 60% health(around 15 bad sectors and some read errors I think).
Have a ****ing weekend, here hoping I can figure this shit out.
