BSOD playing Youtube and Video Games "Drivers_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"

As in the title, the issue is blue screens occurring during games and watching YouTube videos.

The BSOD having the primary text of;
Drivers_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

The two games it happens the most frequently on are (Listed by Frequency):
World of Warcraft
SMITE

As well as happening while watching Youtube Videos. The issue will happen many times a day, with no real consistency.

When the computer BSOD's, the second before it does, the whole screen freezes and the audio begins to loop rapidly until the BSOD finishes and the computer finishes shutting down. Where, upon rebooting, it's taken to the standard 'Windows Did Not Shut Down Properly' screen.

The computer recently replaced the hard drive(s) entirely, put Windows on the new hard drive, and the only programs it runs these days are the two games listed above, Avast, Discord, Google Chrome, Skype, Dead by Daylight and the Nvdia Graphics Card Program.

Possibly Related Issues;
Recently the computer has been refusing to detect the MICROPHONE of the headset I've been using (Listed in Specs below, but put here as well). It connects the earphones, but not the microphone.

The following Solutions have been attempted;
Updated all of the Driver's using Driver Booster 3 Pro
Updated all of the Intel Driver's on their Website
Updated all of the Del Driver's and the BIOS Manually on their Website
Updated NVDIA Driver's Manually and used the program to optimize games
Ran a Defrag
Ran a Virus Scan and a Malware Scan

Hello Malexus and welcome to 7forums

I looked at the dump files and most of them pointed to that nvlddmkm.sys caused the crashes, it is the display driver for all NVIDIA graphics cards. I would recommend that you download DDU:

Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 17.0.1.0

And use it to uninstall and remove the current drivers, reboot and go to:

Drivers | GeForce

And either search for your GPU and download the latest stable release of drivers or use the auto detect tool if you are lazy like me

Thank you very much for the reply and the help. Unfortunately, I have tried to uninstall the drivers using the program, and then updated to the latest ones. That still resulted in consistent crashing

I also then, attempted to uninstall THOSE drivers and roll back to past ones, still having the crash issues, I'm afraid.

Okay, I just read through your original post and I must have missed this:

Um I would strongly recommend to not use Driver Booster 3, it might be a good tool but overall it creates more problems than it solves them and it mostly downloads and install weird drivers that actually might not be good for your system.

I would recommend that you try out the Video drivers that Dell has released on their support site for your laptop because they are specifically made for your laptop:

Also I would recommend to uninstall Driver Booster 3 from IObit and if you've got anything else from them I would also uninstall it, some of their stuff is okay but for example their Malware app has like stolen code from Malwarebytes or some other bigger Malware app.

Hello Boris, thank you for your continued help

I completely removed Driver Booster from the computer, restarted, downloaded the reccomended drivers that you linked me too then restarted. However, testing out another game had a immediate blue screen with the same error What would you reccomend next?

Hello Malexus,

even though the BSOD might have displayed similar information as the previous ones, I would still like to have a look at it, please!

So, open up a new Windows Explorer window(winlogo+e), in the address bar paste in this text: "%systemroot%/minidump" and hit enter.

In the folder that opens you should find the dump files that are created after every single BSOD, please upload the most recent ones here.

Yeah no problem.

But unfortunately it still keeps complaining about your GPU drivers. What drivers have you installed now, the ones that I recommended from the Alienware site?

If yes then go here and search for your model, you can do it manually or do it the lazy way by auto detecting them:

Drivers | GeForce

If no then you'll have to try and reinstall another version of the drivers until you find a batch that doesn't make your computer go bananas when playing games.
