For many years I was running Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit. In the past when I occasionally had BSOD problems it was solved by pulling out and reinserting the sata cable that connects my HD to the MoBo. I did not have any BSOD problems for a couple of years until I recently upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit with the same PC and hardware last month. I have all the latest Microsoft updates. The computer runs fast and fine but will randomly have BSOD problems perhaps 2 or more times a day. I have run a memory test and there are no problems. I have also run Check disk 3 times on the C drive and once on the partitioned D drive on the same HD but the BSOD issue persists. I have put in a new SATA cable and when the computer is off tried removing and reinserting it into the MoBo and HD. It may be helping but the problem persists. I am using a hybrid 2T Seagate drive which is about 1 year and 4 months old and is used regularly. I have attached the necessary dmp and dm log collector files. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards
Chris

Your 64-bit copy of Windows must be damaged as it only blames Microsoft drivers. If you haven't already, install the latest updates from Windows Update.

Thanks for your reply. All the latest Microsoft updates have already been installed. I will also try a Windows repair in case that helps. I am not sure if there is any evidence of a driver problem in the crash report. I am also suspecting hard drive communication problems.

Chris

Thanks, I have run a system file check from a good Win 7 Ultimate SP1 iso from Microsoft. No Windows file errors were found.
The BSOD's occur randomly. Sometimes very quickly or perhaps after many hours. When the computer is booted up from a disk it can run indefinitely without any problems. I suspect a driver or background programme or service is causing the problem. I can't see any pattern yet. The blue screens show different errors each time. eg.
There is only 1 dump present which shows the Network Input/Output System driver as the cause which relates to either the network drivers or protection software.
If you are using a program like Ccleaner please stop using it while troubleshooting.
This because programs like Ccleaner remove dump files that are needed to troubleshoot.
Or configure Ccleaner to not remove dump files:

This is the latest update. Have done a repair (upgrade) installation of Win 7 Ultimate SP1. BSOD occurred during upgrade and continues. Have all the latest updates from Microsoft update. Have confirmed I have the latest BIOS, Motherboard drivers, VGA drivers and Realtec Ethernet drivers. BSOD continues 2-3 times a day randomly. It is not possible to defragment the C or D drive because of BSOD. Uninstalled Norton and installed Microsoft security essentials.
I have attached the latest copy of the DM log. Any further suggestions will be appreciated.
Kind regards
Chris

Here is the latest DM log attached. The blue screens are continuing to occur randomly. Sometimes none in a day and sometimes several. The latest stop errors seem to be 0x0000003B. Your help will be appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. I installed MSI live update and it said I have the latest bios. I also went to the MSI site and downloaded the latest bios update file (bios version 10.E). However when I ran the exe file it said this version of the file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are running.
I opened CMD and ran, "wmic bios get smbiosbiosversion" and it says I have bios version 10.9. However the MSI site says the latest version is 10.E. I am not sure how to upgrade or if version 10.E is compatible with this board. There were several versions of this board released.
Kind regards
Chris.

Thanks. I studied the video and pdf file but it seems to apply only to newer boards and I don't have those options. On my board I can get into M Flash and there are three options Disable/Bios Update/Boot. I select the source D Kingston USB and select Bios update but nothing happens. I will keep trying different options.
Kind Regards
Chris

I went to the MSI forum and got instructions on how to flash the bios from a bootable usb which was successful. I now have Bios version 10.14 (same as 10.E I think). I will now wait and see if the system is stable and report back. Thanks again.
Kind regards
Chris

This is the current situation. After the bios update the BSOD's continued. I enabled driver verifier and selected all non Microsoft drivers. I got 5 more BSOD's and they showed Atikmpag.sys and Atikmdag.sys causing problems which relate to my ATI 4300/4500 video card drivers. The strange thing is according to the Asus website I was using the latest and correct driver for this card (version 8.970.100.1100). I was advised to uninstall and reinstall all ATI drivers and software*. I went to Control panel/add remove programmes and used Catalyst install manager to uninstall all ATI drivers/software. Then without rebooting I downloaded and installed the ATI 4300/4500 series video driver 8.970.100.1100 which is the latest one ATI recommends for this video card. After rebooting it appears the blue screens have stopped. Windows update tried to install a replacement ATI video card driver but I will not install it in case it messes things up.
I wish to thank everyone who helped me with this issue.
