BSOD referencing iaStor.sys. Running Win 7, 64-bit.

Come to think of it, I really cannot remember the last time I crashed while running on the battery...

Perhaps I misunderstood then. I thought it BSODs on battery and on AC, just less frequently on battery.

Does it crash only when the AC is connected and not on battery? If that's the case, then I apologize to everyone.

I'm going to let this stew for a bit.

If you do get a BSOD while running on battery only, please post the information.

If you don't get a BSOD for a week or more, then it's time to take the machine to a shop, have them test the power block, the power jack, and the motherboard.

It would benefit members if you could post some screen shots of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) utility
IRST User Guide

This is mostly a "look but don't touch" request. If in doubt, hit the cancel button.
The only real operation is the 2nd to last bullet - verify.

Start menu > Intel > Intel Rapid Storage Technology

1. Help button > About button
   Close the help window
2. Main Window > Status
   There should be two devices with green checkmarks - these are RAID (mSATA cache and HDD)
   You can click on the devices and that should show the manage window for that device
   If not, see what the manage button presents
3. Main Window > Manage
   There's not a good explanation in the manual, but I suspect the Verify and Repair option is under manage.
   You have two choices
   Verify Only
   Verify and Repair
   
   I was trying to figure out how to check the RAID pair and this looks like the place to do that.
   Please run a Verify Only pass on both the mSATA and HDD
   - you might not have to do both since they are RAID, but the manual isn't precise
   If any errors are reported, post the information presented.
   I'm not 100% sure that you want to run the Repair, the information from the Verify will guide that decision.
4. Main > Preferences
   There's noting about this in the manual, so just post what shows up. We can drill down later if necessary.

I am holding my breath right now. Last night, I downloaded the 13.1.0.1058 IRST driver. I am on AC power, and I have not crashed in about 35 minutes. This is the most progress I have seen yet. I really do not want to jinx things, so I'll probably leave it alone for now. I will keep you guys posted... *crossing fingers*

13.1.0.1058 IRST - only downloaded or installed?

I've put the reinstall without IRST on hold until it's determined if the BSODs are hardware related
(run on battery only for a week or two - Zero crashes most likely means a short in the power jack)

When you get the chance it would still be helpful to see the IRST utility screens. No rush, we're in a wait and see mode.

Sorry, yes. I installed that IRST driver, and things are STILL going well, both on power or battery!

This weekend, I'll see about posting the screen shot you requested!

Hello! Things are still going fine, regardless of AC or battery power! If it continues another few days, I'll have to see about a few things. Disk Cleanup, saving a system image, and perhaps making some kind of back-up...

Anyway, I was just in a "look but don't touch" mode, so I'll provide some screen shots along the way here.

This is my Status screen.

This is my Manage screen. Even with their Help instructions, I could not find anything to do with Verify or Repair. Weird... (I did click the "Advanced" pull-down option to show any more potential goodies.)
