Hi

My computer worked fine untill i was trying to uppdate one driver that was needed a new BIOS. So i updated bios. But that failed. So the motherbord company (Asrock) send me a new BIOS-ROM. Inserted that. (Bios V2.3) Realy nice of Asrock thanks!

My computer started and worked perfecly but just the first boot. After that my secund boot the day after. Then i did recive BSOD 0x124. Now i can only start the computer in safe mode (with network adapter loaded)

I don´t know if this have anything to do with it. But ASRock says that i need a certen level of update of a cuppel of SW on this site
ASRock > Z68 Extreme4 Gen3
But i can´t instal the "Click here to download required Intel ME" now in safe mode.

I have done a memtest86. --> passed
I have done a CHKDSK --> passed

100% of my normal boot attempts will end up in BSOD 0x124.

Please let me know if you need any more info form me in order to help me... Plese i cant figer this one out. i need some help

Thanks

Hi VolvoSkinn.

Stop 0x124 is usually a hardware issue, but if it is hardware issue, it should occur in safe mode as well.

A safe mode just dont load some drivers and stuff there, which may disable some hardware too (like graphics); so a little chance still remains.

First of all let us reduce some noise there.

AVG reports some issues like it is contributing to the BSOD.
Code:
fffff880`0355a518 fffff880`07c1dc00Unable to load image avgidsdrivera.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for avgidsdrivera.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for avgidsdrivera.sys
 avgidsdrivera+0x1dc00
Not very uncommon. Uninstall AVG using AVG Remover. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

The Realtek audio driver also reports like a contributing factor to the BSOD.
Code:
fffff880`0355b328 fffff880`090f23cfUnable to load image RTKVHD64.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for RTKVHD64.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for RTKVHD64.sys
 RTKVHD64+0x43cf
In general it does not cause BSODs by itself. Disable your USB audio device in Device Manager, see how it goes.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

  • Double click to open it.
  • Click this button only:
  • 2012-12-13_224441.jpg
  • If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
You have 35 startup items!!! :zip: Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus (now it would be MSE, after following the first part of the instructions).
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Report us for any further BSOD.
