Solved BSOD when inserting a USB pen

Hi all,
Since a few days ago I am experiencing BSOD anytime I insert a USB pen in my Windows 7 Pro 64 notebook.
Does anyone have a solution for this?

The zip you uploaded does not contain any crash dump.

Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Dont run any disc cleanup tool before you upload another zip.

Had another BSOD. Didn't use the CClenaer. Hope this time there is a crash dump file.

Uninstall McAfee Using McAfee Removal Tool. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Let us know the result.

I will do a full system scan with MSE and MBAM, and will post the result.

Result of MSE full system scan was "nothing detected".
Concluding:
1. Don't have McAfee installed;
2. MBAM detected what I think it is a false positive;
3. MSE full system scan - Cleaned.

Can you please help me to sort this out?

Hi,
I don't have McAfee installed.

My question is, if you dont have McAfee installed then how have you got the McAfee driver? And how can you do it as they said?

Solution

This issue is resolved in EEPC 6.2 Patch 1 release which is available from the McAfee Downloads site using a valid Grant Number.

Not logical to me.

If I have been in this situation, I would have performed a clean install.

I have 3 files named Mfe*.sys on Windows\System32\Drivers, but it is also a HP notebook!

If it is any sort of drive encryption program bloated by the OEM manufacturer (I cannot say it, as you never uploaded your msinfo32.nfo file), clean reinstall is the only effective way to get rid of it.

Yes, it is HP drive encryption.

So follow #12.

I wonder why this file was not there in the zip earlier.

I have uninstalled HP Drive Encryption and HP Sanitizer and it solved the problem.
