Solved BSOD while playing Bad Company 2, HELP ME PLEASE !!!

This time, I removed my Kingston RAM and kept the iBall RAM going. I started Hot Pursuit. I played the game for about 20 minutes and again BSOD, this time relating to directx graphics. Here is the minidump.

AGAIN, You need to update to SP-2.

When you have finished that I will be happy to continue to help you. If you cant update you would be better off in win 7 at least there you dont need to update.

Short of that you are going to keep having problems in you headlong rush to play games.

As much as I hate to admit it but you are right. Still, I will test my current configuration for a few more days to see if there are any more occurences of BSOD's. However, as you said, I will install Win 7 in the next few days anyway. But I am cherishing the present moment and am hopefull that I wont get any more BSODs :).

Once again, thank you sir, you have been of great help to me, good night :D

Win 7 is a better OS (IMHO) and you can download the SP as a windows update. Vista (without SP) is no longer supported.

Good luck

Zigzag sir, great news. I have finally found the problem. I have been playing Bad Company 2 for 1 week with my kingston RAM and never found BSOD again. I tested it with memtest and after 10 hours and 19 passes, no errors. So, this RAM is Ok. Then yesterday I removed kingston and placed iBall RAM on the same slot and played for 5 hours at a stretch and no problems. I was certain that my mobo's other slot is faulty. I ran memtest on my iBall RAM and now after 11 hours and 20 passes ...... 1 ERROR !!! So, this is the culprit. As the RAM is in warranrt period, I will get it replaced. However, I am still not ruling out a faulty mobo slot. I will test my RAMs on them once I return from my vacation in a few days. This is the error message that I got with the iBall RAM :

Test - 3
Pass - 11
Failing adress - 0000aa37f70 170.4MB
Bad - 08000000
Err bits - 08000000
Count - 1
CPU - 2

I am using mestest86 4.0.

It is with the greatest pleasure to inform you that my theory is correct. The second mobo RAM slot is indeed faulty. I have been carrying out tests for a week now and here is my conclusion :
  • The second motherboard RAM slot is indeed faulty. I have tested some more RAMs on it and all have shown errors.
  • The first slot is healthy. One week on and still no errors.
  • Even my faulty RAM is not causing any errors.
  • As a damaged RAM slot is unrepairable, I will sell both my RAMs and buy a 4gb RAM instead.
  • There are absolutely no problems with my graphics card or any other hardware.
  • All the crash reports were misleading me.
  • Games have no fault.
Zigzag sir, thank you for taking your time to help me, I will always be gratefull to you. To all other people having the same issue, please check your RAM an motherboard slots first. Carry out different combinations.
