BSOD with new install of WIN7 Pro 64, error 0x00000101

I been running XP64 Pro on this computer for a while. Recently I decided to switch to Win7 Pro 64. I had all of the latest drivers installed for my devices but I kept getting the BSOD. After a couple of days trying, I did another fresh install and the only driver I have installed is for my wireless adapter. I still get the BSOD. The code I get is pretty consistent. It's usually 0x00000101 (0x31,0x0,0xFFFFF880022FD5180,0x3). Occasionally I get a stop 0x0000004E but I haven't been able to catch the other parameters.

Since your experiencing a Stop 0x101, you will need to configure and upload a Kernel Memory dump, and then upload the file to a file sharing service such as Skydrive or Dropbox. Make sure you upload the file to the Public folder, and then post the URL to the file in your next post.

Oh I ran Memtest86 overnight and all day today while at work. It ran 13 times with no errors.

I updated the drivers for the wireless device. It's crashed 4 times since then. The first was a STOP:0x4E, the second was STOP:0x101, the third was STOP:0x4E, and the fourth was STOP:0x101.

I'm in-work uploading the mem dumps to skydrive.

It seems that a PTE of PFN list is corrupt, this is usually caused by device drivers.

Run Driver Verifier to scan for any corrupted drivers which may be causing problems, this program works by running various stress tests on drivers, in order to produce a BSOD which will locate the driver; run for least 24 hours:

Disable Driver Verifier, and then enable it again with same options in the tutorial, with the addition of the Special Pool option.

The tutorial says to chose custom settings and select:

Standard settings, Force pending I/O requests, and IRP Logging
(no option to select Special Pool)

The "additional help" link says to chose "Select individual settings from a full list" and select:

Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation", "and "Force Pending I/O Requests"

The "additional help" link's instructions allow me to select Special Pool so I enabled the verifier using those settings. Right now I have the following enabled:
Special Pool
Pool Tracking
Force IRQL checking
I/O verification
Deadlock detection
DMA checking
Security checks
IRP Logging
Miscellaneous checks

The following are not enable:
Force pending I/O requests
Low resources simulation

Are these the correct settings to have? When and what dmp files do I need to upload?

They're fine, and upload the Minidumps, they will be suffice with any BSODs caused by Driver Verifier.

Run Memtest86+ for least 9-10 passes, and preferably overnight as it can take a while to fully complete.

Test each RAM stick individually, if an error is found then move the same RAM stick into the next DIMM slot and test again, if errors are found for the same RAM stick in every available slot then you have a faulty RAM module. On the other hand, if no errors are found in the next slot or the other slots for the same RAM module, then you have a faulty DIMM slot.

Test each RAM stick and every motherboard DIMM slot available.

It is a RAM, a bad RAM.

But if you have got a result like that:

Run some hard-drive diagnostics and follow these steps:

Find your hard-drive manufacturer and run their tests.

Additional Tests:

Post a screenshot of Crystal Disk Info summary:

If you have an SSD, make sure the following are up to date:

• SSD firmware
• BIOS Version
• Chipset Drivers
• Hard disk controller drivers/SATA drivers
• If you have a Marvell IDE ATA/ATAPI device, make sure the drivers are up to date from the Intel site or Marvell site and not from your motherboard/vendor support site.

Check for any file system errors and bad sectors using Option #2 of:

Well I finally finished running the hard drive tests. There were no errors on any of them. Frustrated, I reloaded Windows XP. Odd that it doesn't crash when I run XP. Do you have any thoughts on that? Is it something wrong with Windows 7 itself? If so is there a patch for that?

It's most likely not actually Windows 7, but most likely how something is interacting with the operating system.

Well I ran the sfc /scannow. The first 4 times I tried to run it, I got the BSOD. That was using "Option 2." Then I put my install disk and tried "Option 1." The first try resulted in a BSOD. The second returned "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
