Build My Own Laptop-Need Information

Cyberwolf, are you sure about AMD. What about the AMD FX Unlocked? It has 8Ghz of processing power. That beats anything Intel has dished out so far.

I know Alienware and Dell are a waste of money and that Origin is way to expensive. However, I need information on the best parts available and the prices of these parts. It would if you arrange it in a catalog format.

What (I think) everyone here is advising you to do is to find a laptop manufacturer that allows you to "custom build" one of their laptops to your specifications.

That will get you pretty close to what you want. It will cost more than what you could get if you just shopped until you found a ready-built laptop that has most of what you want.

But those are the rules: off-the-shelf is cheap, custom is expensive.
And building your own from parts is only for fun and laughs.

TVeblen +1 to that !

Melkor,

We are trying to understand why you don't custom build a wicked brand name laptop and with the money saved you can still build a killer small format lanparty machine and an amazing desktop machine.
Even if you think you have the money......you don't have HP or Dell research and development money ! Then what about dropping all that coin and not being able to upgrade it when the week passes and it now out of date ?
Don't make me contact your trust fund manager ! lol
