Solved C:\CI.dll Corrupt file crash - help!

I've been felled by this virus. I had disabled my browser protection because several of my usual websites were being flagged for virus attacks recently, and got careless.

I don't have any recovery disks or system restore. My Windows 7 came pre-installed on my laptop and I don't have an install disk for it. Likewise, I don't have any other Windows 7 machines to create any of this stuff.

Safe mode doesn't work either, so while I have Malwarebytes I can't run it.

My friend is copying the 64 bit recovery disk and zipping it up for me, but that isn't bootable, so I don't know if that'll work.

What should I do? Use a Linux disc to boot ahead of Windows? Keep trying to get into safe mode? Gamble on being able to boot from this Windows 7 64 bit disc my friend is giving me online?

I should note that I have .iso creation software, so if someone gives me a bootable .iso of these files, it's possible for me to make boot discs from them.

Edit: I did manage to get into Windows, and started up Malwarebytes, but I left and came back to see the a black screen. I've rebooted the computer several times and Windows 7 will not even launch right now. Was this triggered by the virus, by some chance?

Try Booting into Safe Mode to install, update and run a full scan with Malwarebtyes.

If this fails, download on another computer Microsoft Standalone System Sweeper, burn to Cd or write to flash stick, boot it and run a full scan after it connects to internet to update.

Once you have cleaned the system, boot the Win7 Repair CD which you have burned to CD using ImgBurn at 4x speed. Accept any offered repair, if not or if that doesn't start Win7 boot back in to run Startup Repair repeatedly to see if it will start.

If this fails there are additional steps we can help you attempt based on whether it booted CD finds an installation to repair, and what Startup Repair reports.

If not you can copy out your files using Paragon Rescue free CD or the Repair CD: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

Then try running Dell Factory Recovery from its partition following these steps: Dell Restoring Your Computer´s Software to the Factory Settings

If partiiton will not run try resetting it: Dell Recovery Partition - restoring F8 link

Your options then are to run full factory Recovery this way, order the Dell Recovery DIsks, or find a Win7 installation DVD for your version to clean reinstall following the steps in the Perfect Reinstall link in my signature box below.

I used an Ubuntu boot disc and am currently backing up my files, but wouldn't the rootkit be on the back-up drive, now?

Is there a way to remove the virus using the Ubuntu boot disk?

Corruption

Does anyone have a list of registry key's that are cleaned? (I seriously doubt it is the standard "Run" and "exefile" which have been altered by previous iterations.

A lot of good advice listed. Working on a system that has it, and trying to find a way to clean it as-is.

Any type of "Restore" doesn't work. Though I do believe it is a pre-windows start up virus.
