I have a D-Link 323 2 bay NAS drive - mapped to my W7 64bit PC

I accidentally deleted a couple of files :( ... I ceased further activity to avoid overwrite ... are there any utilities to allow me to undelete.
I tried a couple of Undelete programs I have - but they don't see networked drives.

Undelete operations require low level access that is not possible with network drives. Any undelete functionality would have to be provided by the NAS itself. You really need to maintain backups.

I have a WD NAS drive and it actually provides a Recycle bin. Your NAS may provide a similar function. Check your admin utilities.

Built my first computer (8Mhz 8088cpu, 640K RAM, 20MB HDD, 2 360K floppy drives) in 1985 and have been building them for myself, relatives and friends ever since.
No luck on that ... the D-Link users forum shows posts on how you can hack the LINUX system to add a recycle bin ... but not done that.

What sort of NAS drive is it? Can you shut it down, remove the HDD and directly connect it to your PC? If so then you can run the undelete software on the drive providing the file system (e.g. NTFS, FAT32, etc) is supported by your PC.

It shows in Windows as NTFS ... but that is not correct.
I put HD in the PC, and windows does not recognise it ...
Used DiskInternals Linux Reader and that does see the HD and allow me to look at contents.
It states it is a Linux Ext file system.

Yea very few NAS drives will use NTFS unfortunately. Linux being open source and easily moddable is widely used in NAS drives hence the Linux File system. If you can find something for Linux to recover the files then read the HDD with a Linux Live CD as from what I remember they're fully functional so I think you can install software.

If you can't then do you have a partition on your system you can shrink to install Linux (or go out and buy a very cheap drive to do so).
