Solved Can I upgrade directly from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 8 ?

I am currently using windows 7 ultimate and i want to upgrade to windows 8. Can i upgrade directly or i have to replace windows 7 and install all the softwares once again which are currently present in my windows 7.
Please Someone help me...:):)

GPU: Nvidia Geforce 650 TI.
PSU: Corsair TX750.
DRIVES: (1) Samsung 840 120 GB SSD (2) Western Digital blue 500 GB 7200 RPM.
Yep I did that on my main laptop and my Sandy Bridge with an upgrade 8 then updated i to 8.1 with the fee download.

Mind you I still run them in 7 style with Classic Shell a I don't like the Metro panel stuff and if you want a tip don't go hoeing into the free apps I had to do a complete reinstall after thinking I could sue them only to find it clogged the machines really bad.
If you are interested in the 7 look Start Menu - Restore in Windows 8

I must say though using 8.1 has speeded up both machines considerably.
