I try to enable Windows 7 search but there is a problem :

1) Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows Features on or off > Check Windows Search
2) Restart
3) After restart computer says : "Do not close computer etc" Configuring ... But when goes to 85% says : Failed to ... and Reverting Changes.

Why this happens? And how can be fixed?

Hello Justt,

You might see if unchecking "Windows Search" and clicking OK in Windows Features to turn it off, then afterwards turn it back on may toggle it to work again.
Windows Search - Turn On or Off

If that didn't work and you have a restore point available dated before this happened, then it may be easier to do a System Restore with it to hopefully fix this for you.

System File Checker did not help.

Doing a Repair Install should fix it for you without losing anything.

Hope this helps,
John

Follow this:
Method 1)
If you want to Enable Windows Search, click on Start and select Control Panel.
In Control Panel switch to Large Icons View and click on Programs and Features.
Next in the left panel click on the Turn Windows features on or off hyperlink.
Scroll down the list and check the box next to Windows Search.
Click yes to the message asking if you’re sure you want to continue.
Follow the instruction with acceptance
Restart Your system

Method 2)
To disable or enable the service, run "services.msc" either direct from the start menu or via the run box (press Windows Key + R to access this). Once loaded, scroll down the services list, right click on Windows Search and then click Properties:
If you want to disable the search index, choose "disabled" from the startup type dropdown box. If you want to enable the index, choose "automatic (delayed start)":
