Hi there. Just changed my hp pavillion laptop back to Factory image. In the tray, where the notifications are, it lists a ccSvchst.exe. After searching and searching, I cannot find that I have a symantec or norton product on my laptop. And when I search for the file itself, the system does not find it. I'd like to get rid of it. I even used the norton removal tool. That file is STILL listed in the tray. I looked through the startup programs. Nothing. Can anyone help me in that? Where could it be located? On one forum I saw it would be in Program Files-> common file->symantec shared. Nothing... Thanks.

Thanks, Jacee, for the tip. I hesitated downloading SecurityCheck. Screen 317. Sounds like a strange thing...
Meanwhile I got it fixed by following another lead. It had to do with going into the registry, of deleting iconstreams and pasticonstreams. Then stopping Explorer and restarting Explorer. After a reboot, my tray notification area was clean.
