Hi,

I keep getting a black screen with one white dash when i'm reinstalling win7 with my USB.

My laptop is working and booting up fine but I would like to reinstall Win7 Home 64 bit again. I do not have the Windows 7 installation disc so I followed the instructions on the page below to create my bootable USB drive using the WUDT.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2432-usb-windows-7-installation-key-drive-create.html

After creating the USB drive, I restarted my computer, got into my BIOS setting, changed the boot priority to USB first but I kept getting a black screen with one white dash.

I tried buring the ISO file i downloaded from Digital Rivers using UltraISO and I got the same black screen.

When I tried creating a UEFI bootable USB drive using the same image using Rufus following the instructions here:
UEFI Bootable USB Flash Drive - Create in Windows

I got the error code 0xc0000225 saying that the disc drive is inaccessible.

I'm using a Sandisk 8gb USB drive:
Amazon.com : SanDisk Cruzer 8 GB USB Flash Drive SDCZ36-008G-B35 : Electronics

Also, when I try to run the bootable USB using MobaLiveCD it says that there is an error trying to copy kqemu.sys. Is this information relevant?

What should I do to be able to reinstall win7?

Here are the specifications of my laptop:
Asus K42JK
i5-540m
ASUSTek Computer Inc Motherboard
8gb DDR3 ram
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500/5100
American Megatrends BIOS version 203
Win7 Home Premium 64 bit

Thanks.

I have successfully reinstalled win7 on my computer using Wintobootic after many unsuccessful attempts at making a bootable USB using WUTD, Rufus, UltraISO etc. Thank you for the help.
