Hello

Today i experienced something very strange. I have 2 computers running on Windows 7. I needed to reset my TCP/IP protocol using the following command: netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt however cmd needs to be run as admin. I tried start > cmd > right click run as admin and it gave me error that I don't have access to the specified device, path or file. I don't have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

I go to where CMD is located and I viewed the security settings, something is very very wrong. The Administrator group only has read & execute and read permissions. I cannot even change the settings.

It happened not only to this computer but also the other one as well.
The create shortcut method > run as admin won't work as well because it will give me the same error, please help!

Hi Halevant41,

Have you tried accessing CMD Run as Admin in Safe Mode?
What anti-virus, anti-malware or anti-exploit are you running?

Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Premium is known to cause problems with CMD Run as Admin as well as other apps and functions.

Ah yes, it seems that I have Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Premium and it is causing it. I cannot add the cmd executable as an exception to it. It seems the only workaround is to disable it when running cmd as admin or uninstall Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Premium

Mines is stand alone. It can't add the command prompt to its exclusions because it never appears under the logs tab even if I try to trigger it by running it as admin when MBA is running.

I think the setting has something to do with its advance setting, but there's too many options to choose from and not knowing what works or not.

However, I do notice another problem I have encountered. I will make another separate thread
