Can't connect to Steam servers

I downloaded Steam on Windows 7 fine but when I start it up it says "cannot connect to the Steam network, please try again later." I disabled Windows firewall and my anti-virus firewall, still no luck. I also deleted the Steam .blob file, no help. Also I'm dual booting on my Mac and I have build 7100 if that matters. Anyone know how to resolve this? Thanks.

Steam has been acting funny the past few days.

Yea tells me the Steam server is too busy to take my request at this time.

There has been a great deal of traffic on the Steam servers this weekend due to the Team Fortress 2 free weekend. Many people are having trouble connecting and downloading updates. It should die down in the next couple of days.
