I just added a second hard drive to my windows 7 home theater PC. On the second drive when I go to delete a folder, That contain's another folder, I am told I don't have permission to delete the folder. So I have to open the first folder, delete it's contents, then I can delete the original folder.

Example I have a folder named: movie, This folder contains: tvshow.mp4, and folder subs.

If I try to delete folder movie, I get error "you do not have permission to delete this folder"

If I open folder movie, delete folder subs, no error. Then I delete folder Movie, no error.

This happens on every folder no matter the contents.

This does not happen on drive c: where the OS is installed.

I am using Win 7 pro. And there is only one account on the PC that is the admin. What do I need to do so I can just delete the parent folder without deleting each sub folder.

Did the second drive already have files on it? If so it may not see the user on this machine as the owner of the files. A quick fix may be to set up the Take Ownership Shortcut

Move the contents out of the folder, then delete it. No other way that could be available.

Download a program called Unlocker. Delete it with that. Logging in w/ safe mode also works sometimes.
