The boot files for C are on E as shown by the System Active flags, however the status of the partition is RAW, or ruined. Will C still even boot?

You can try to move the System boot files to C using EasyBCD but they may be damaged. If so you can try the choice to Re-create/Repair them at the same time. EasyBCD (free Download at bottom of page - no name or email required)

I would then try to Delete the partition or do a partition-specific wipe using free Partition Wizard - Use the Bootable CD - Option Two.

The cleanest method is here to Dual boot Ubuntu-Win7

Run checkdisk on the raw drive .

Boot win7 repair cd /install dvd ( unless you are able to do it from your installed windows )

Wow, are you sure? I had to use CCleaner to wipe it since it wouldn't format, I had no idea it had boot files -_-

Another "fix your computer because you screwed it up again" day.

Part 1 finished? I'll try the wizard now.

So you did all of this without rebooting? And does XP start now?

If the partition is labeled System Active in Disk Mgmt then there is no question it holds the System boot files. There is no guesswork here. I also knew you were booted into C because that's what the Boot label on it signifies.

You may need to Mark XP Partition Active.

XP? It has checkdisk too doesn't it?

Bit late if he has wiped the drive.

Sorry for responding late, but yes I have wiped XP from the C:\ Drive using CCleaner, and I can still boot up perfectly fine as well.
I want to install Ubuntu onto the E:\ partition.

EDIT: Windows decided randomly to allow me to now format it. Finally.. I don't even know what the problem was initially, but it works now. XD
