Can't install W7 security updates

I am running Windows 7 - 64 bit. Recently I read that updates KB3068708, KB3075249 and KB3080149 collected data from my PC and reported it back to Microsoft. I uninstalled those updates not thinking them appropriate. When I got notified that the monthly security updates were available (KB4516065 & KB4524752) the selection menu also showed KB3068708 & KB3080149 checked and available. I uncheck the latter and initiated the install. I then got the error message that no updates were installed with the two spyware updates again *helpfully* checked. So I left all four updates checked and initiated the install. The two spyware updates installed, the security updates didn't. After rebooting my PC I tried again on the security updates but they failed again. Am I being punished for wanting my privacy?

Hello OldJohn

Windows has a very useful feature in these circumstances; that is Hide Update. Once the Update is hidden, you shall not be further asked to install this update.

To Hide an Update, you first check the available Updates in Windows Update. Then select each Update with a right-mouse click, and select, Hide update.

KB4524752 is Win7 end of life notice? Hide it or install it, then check box to stop notice.
Google, Yahoo, YouTube, etc. collect data?
Regarding your updates failing, you probably have other issues with your Windows Update, which is almost always the case.
Logs always help us.
Did you try stand alone M$ Catalog KB4516065?
Still doesn't work?

Ensure you exactly run autoSURT and other stuff from Snick or PaulB from the desktop or from wherever they say -- for best results. And, if you get dism++, don't delete or adjust any of its files, doing so will disrupt dism++.

KB4524752 is Win7 end of life notice? Hide it or install it, then check box to stop notice.

KB4524752 applies to Windows 7 Professional edition only. Other Win7 editions like Home Premium and Ultimate will be offered KB4493132 thru Windows Update instead

Is OldJohn (the OP) running Win7 Pro? need for him to update his "System Specs" to reflect the "edition" of Windows 7

erpster4, OPs not following posting rules has been an issue for, well... it still is.
You are correct KB4524752 is nag win10 pro upgrade.
Gets real old having to guess what the problem may be without logs.

To Auto Mechanic: "Do you know what the noise is in my car, it is in the front?"
What is the answer? No, always! Why? Not enough information.
What kind of noise?
Front or Rear engine? Etc.
