Hello, this problem appeared suddenly. I haven't installed any new programs recently.

E.g. on desktop if I use ctrl + c and v, it copies to desktop instead of highlighted folder. If I use ctrl + x and v, error message appears saying "source and destination are the same" while it's not! The problem appears all in the file explorer.

Doing those with right-click menu works fine! The shortcuts are working fine on notepad, browser etc so the keyboard is not the roblem.

I have tried many things already:
-echo of clip command
-sfc scannow command
-restart pc
-restart explorer.exe
-uninstall keyboard driver
-clean boot
-safe mode boot
-windows is up to date
-create new account

This is annoying problem please help!

If you use ctrl V as a paste shortcut, it tries to paste in the folder you've got opened, not in the one selected. So if you copy a file from the desktop, click on a desktop folder (not double click opening a new Windows Explorer window) and try to paste directly, it'll try to paste into the desktop, which is the same as the origin, hence the message.

You need to open the destination folder for ctrl V to work as you want.

But it is worked fine before without the need to open the destination folder! So there is definitely some problem that I can't figure out. Those are useful time saving shortcuts and it would be nice to get them work again!

I've never seen acting differently than this, since at least Windows 95 that hasn't changed. Perhaps you did something different or changed some configuration or Explorer plugin?

looks like a memory management issue. are you dealing copy/paste of a big chart/pic/photo ?

on my W7, I use shortcuts often. If that's a memory issue, try right-click copy, right-click paste, if those work. that confirms.

some apps may run like a ram hog, make PC laggy and shortcuts fail.
