cd/dvd drivers missing error

When I try to install windows 7 64 bit on my newly-built computer, it gives me the cd/dvd drivers are missing error.

I've tried everything that other people have suggested but to no avail.

-Downloaded the .iso file from the engineering department at my school. (Yay for free, legit software!)
-Tried burning two separate disks using imgburn so I thought it was just a bad burn but when I made a bootable usb, the same error occurred.
-Inserting DVD's drivers disk did not work.
-Tried booting without my usb keyboard plugged in.
-The boot device priority is in the correct order.
-DVD drive is in AHCI and USB is set to forced FDD

I am guessing one of two things:
1)Bad download of the .iso file (although w7 32 bit worked perfectly on my laptop)
2)Bios needs to be updated

Any ideas of what is wrong? Thanks in advance!

Eskimo,
Welcome to seven forums.

If you've got a friend with a known, good Win 7 DVD, then try to install from it.

If you still can't get past that msg, make sure that motherboard correctly configured and all connectors are correctly seated.

A hardware problem is the most likely source of your problem.

Thanks for the reply, I will try using another Win7 DVD then.

As for it being a hardware problem, the motherboard manual says to place the SATA cable of the DVD drive that will be used to boot with in SATA connectors 5 or 6 and I've tried all of them. Other than that I don't know what else could be wrong.

Do you get the prompt to press any key to boot CD/DVD? Does another bootable CD work?

Try Verifying the DVD using ImgBurn by loading ISO, make sure it says "bootable" in text at left, then insert DVD to Verify against ISO. Burn another DVD at 4x with Verify if necc.

Do you have the latest BIOS version update? What is SATA controller setting?

theog-I just bought this hard drive off of newegg so it is clean, and bios picks it up.

greg-When I boot the computer with the usb or DVD, it brings up the "Windows is loading files" screen, then I click "Install" and right after that is when I get the error. My bios version is what came with the mobo (so not updated) and as stated above, my SATA controller is set to AHCI.

Check your mobo model's Support Downloads webpage for a newer BIOS version then update your BIOS, from Windows preferably.

Try removing 2 gb of RAM for install, then swap RAM, test RAM using memtest86 bootable CD for 5-6 passes.

I tried installing using a borrowed Windows 7 installation disk and it worked!

So it was in fact a bad .ISO file!

Thanks for the help everyone!
