Not sure its related but since i cleared my cache i'm having issues connecting to certain sites in both IE and CHROME, both with the latest release which worked fine beforehand.

When trying to access youtube without https:// it won't load... even with http it loads but not perfectly.

Likewise, when i try facebook without https before it, it won't load. even with https, it loads, not still has a few errors.

just noticed google maps has issues when trying to zoom in or out in a map view.

furthermore, my itunes will no longer download podcasts since this happened.

I tried renewing IP, checking host files, re-clearing cache in both browsers, resetting browser to default settings, uninstalling and re-installing chrome and computer reboots but nothing has helped.

the other computers on my network have no issues at all.

one last clue, when connecting over wifi instead of cable, i can access facebook and youtube almost entirely normally but google maps still has issues zooming in or out in map view or changing between regular map or satellite views.

You can use these free tools to see if they find anything,
Manually Update them before running full scans,
Try not to use your computer while the scans are running, (one at a time of course).
http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
http://www.superantispyware.com/?tag=SUPERANTISPYWARE

This one is the longest up to 4 hours, the others are only about 45 minutes,
http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Delete your browser history/ again,
Open Internet explorer,
Hold the Alt key down and type these letters TD, (or Gear symbol on the top right/ Internet options/ Delete button)
Check All of the boxes and Uncheck the very top box,
Click on Delete.
Close ie,
Reset ie9 or ie10 manually,
Click the Start button on the Taskbar,
Click on Control panel,
Click on Internet options,
Go to the Advanced section,
Click on Reset button on the bottom,
Check the box to Delete personal settings,
Use the recommended setup and install options.
Shut down your machine.

How are you connected to the Internet ?
If by modem, then try this
Unplug the electricity of the modem (in the back of the modem)
Wait about 2 minutes
Then plug it back in
Wait for all the light to come back on the modem
Reboot the computer and try again

If you have a wired or wireless router attached to the modem do this:
Unplug the electricity on the back of the modem
Then unplug the electricity on the router
Wait 2 minutes
Now replug in the modem, wait for all but one light to come on (that one will come on when you plug in the router electricity )
Now replug in the router
Wait for all its lights to come back
Reboot the computer
And see if all is fine now

The problem affects only one of my computers on the network and not the others so i don't think it's possible it's a modem/router issue.

Thanks for your reply, the search continues...

have you tried a different Ethernet cable?
the cable could be bad and you could be getting intermittent loading problems

also are you sure you do not have spyware or a Trojan that could be preventing the pages from loading?
I would download Malwarebytes and run a full scan, not a quick scan, and see what you come up with

This is a laptop correct? Because you said it works fine wirelessly
So why not just use the wireless instead of connecting it with an Ethernet cable

There seems to something very different with your Wireless network and your Wired network,
Are both password secured = were you prompted with entering the passwords to enter the networks ?
Is this a Work machine where it might have limitations on what type of Public networks it will let you enter ?
