I replaced the hard drives in my computer with SSDs – bit of a pain, but no real issues. However, there is one minor issues I cannot resolve: One of the drives is used to simply store image files. Before the update, this drive was E:, but after the update (since I needed to copy the files) it is now F:. I tried using Computer Management -> Disk Management -> Change Drive Letters and Path… but E: was unavailable.
I then found this article, Is a Drive Letter Not Available on Windows? Here's Why, and How to Fix It, deleted the registry key identified, and rebooted. However, after rebooting, I could still not change the drive letter and the key reappeared in the registry.
I know that there are no programs running on the SSD and there are no automatically running programs that try to access this drive. Why can I not change its letter?
