Chdsk finds the same 10 unindexed orphan files each time

You have managed to Delete them and yet they came back ... It would happen again even if you Deleted them ? ...

I could only delete them with Linux and, yes, I did delete them. Then I verified that they were no longer in the Chkdsk folder -- it was empty -- and I ran Chkdsk again. It reported that it was recovering the same list of unindexed files as it had before and when it completed the Chkdsk*.log files were back in the Chkdsk folder. Chkdsk finds 10, says it recovered 0 and there are 6 that reappear in the Chkdsk folder.

Just a thought.

If these things are in Systems I would leave them alone.
Windows 7 always tries to protect itself and might not let you remove them or just put them back when you use a 3 party program to remove them.

How large are these files you want to remove?

They are typical Chkdsk results logs, 5 KB - 7 KB. Even they are a curiousity to me. There are 6 of them, 2 from 2010 and 2 from 2011, each ending with "Windows has checked the file system and found no problems." There are 2 from the last few days, even though Chkdsk has been run way more times than that, both showing the unindexed files and ending with "Windows has made corrections to the file system."

Why in the world would Windows try to protect simple results log? It allows you to delete the ones in the Events log easily enough?
