I have a samsung 300V laptop with
Windows 7 home premium 64 bit
Intel core i7
8 gb ram
NVIDIA gt 520MX graphic card
When I tried to update my NVIDIA driver it installs perfectly and it prompts me to restart the laptop. When I restart the windows logo appears and then the startup repair screen appears showing something about hardware changes and I have to restore my computer.
I really want to update my driver to play new games. Please help.
P.S. There is something called NVIDIA Optimus on my PC.
Not sure which update you're talking about but I had issues with the newest one myself. I just rolled back to the old driver and my issue's evaporated. I don't see how Optimus would have anything to do with your problems but its possible I suppose. Your card SHOULD play most if not all the newer games anyway. My Geforce GTX 560M does just fine with most games.
As Androider86 mentions, roll back your driver. It is actually a known issue for the 5xx cards to crash frequently on the later drivers. The last known good/stable driver for this series of cards is 314.22
And to be honest you really won't see any gain from updated drivers anyway as they are tweaked/updated to support newer hardware.
Also make sure to use a driver cleaner in between uninstalling and reinstalling drivers.
