Computer crashes every single time it starts up

I used to be able to go on to my custom built pc normally, but every single time i search for updates through the windows update program and install them, my computer would crash and i had to reload back to a previous save. Now i can't even log in anymore because the computer crashes every single time. I've tried to reload it back to previous setting but it will still crash (this worked before). I really have no clue what to do and would greatly appreciate any help.

Tell us what it does besides "Crash". How far do you get, what is on the screen, etc.

Sorry for the bad post. If I start windows up normally it will show me the blue screen in which it shows a PC crash dump. Before that happens it is possible to press f8 and launch in safe mode, the same blue screen will appear. If after this I restart the computer I can go into startup repair (i think thats what its called), but it says the computer cant automatically be restored. I can then go into advanced mode where I can do a system recovery, i've tried this several times. It will crash afterwards even though it says it was succesful.

When manually installing updates you need to switch your update settings to Never check for updates and restart the machine first.

After switch your windows update settings back to what you had prior and manually check for updates and the rest should show up shortly.

I'd love to try this, but the problem right now is that i can't get into windows because it gives me the blue screen. In my other reply above this one I've tried my best to explain what happens when i start the computer.

Have you tried CMOS reset ?

Not sure if you have jumpers or a button but you might be able to remove the cpu and get it to go onto bios setup on startup with F2.

I just reset the CMOS. Unfortunately i didn't work and still crashed afterwards. Thank you for the suggestion though it could have very well helped.

Could be a bad MB, or a bad RAM module. Since you have more than one RAM module, try removing one and attempt to boot. If it fails, swap the RAM and retry. Also, any attached PCI cards could be the root of the problem. Try removing them & attempt to boot.

Have you tried to get into Safe Mode? That might be a start for you. Use this tutorial to help.
