Ever since the beginning of the installation of Windows 7 it has had this error.

Ive come home to the pc being restarted and i assumed it was an update only to find it recovered from a serious error.

I have an ATI radeon AIW 9600 and while i know it is outdated im hoping i can find a fix for this because i currently dual boot Ubuntu and an iMac is seriously looking good right now.

I also tried to play two different MMORPG's and they freeze right after loading so im thinking that this is also driver/VC related.

Ill post the last dump for everyone to see. Post any questions or ideas you might have im not afraid to try them.

Ive also seen AVG might be a cause for random reboots? I guess i can uninstall that and use a different AVP.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Hey just took a screenshot of the bluescreenview app running.

I didn't know how to export to a file to upload here and i figured you didn't need EVERYTHING.

If you do ill figure it out.

So it is reporting that 3 of 4 crashes were due to my ralink usb wireless adapter(or something related)

Well since i NEED that for internet and have no money for a new one lol im kind stuck, ill check for updated w7 driver though.

Lastly my #4 crash is due to ATI driver/Card.

ATI discontinued support and merged everything over to legacy support so basically i have a Vista driver installed under windows 7 as that is all they can offer.....so is my only option a new video card?

Thanks again!

I believe it is the video driver that stopped responding and recovered. You can verify this by looking in event viewer (type eventvwr in search). Go to the windows log>application tab.

Look for critical errors (they have red in the left column) that say app hang, app crash, or anything relating to the driver crash

When you find them note the event ID and source codes and tell us what they are.

Ok so i went through the Event viewer and found that most of the critical errors were being caused by Bonjour which is Apples network discovery app. I use it with itunes i guess but as of now i do not haha because i uninstalled it.

cthelper.exe also made the list as well as :

sidebyside
Vss
Photoshop
Googe Updater
DVD maker
and msiinstaller to name the majority of issues.

I saved the entire event as a txt but it is too big to upload so if for some reason someone wanted to see it i can email it to you.

I don't get why all those programs are showing as critical errors, with PS and dvd maker for sure i never experienced trouble while actually using them

I do not know as of right now what sidebyside is or VSS but i will investigate those.

I also tried to update my USB wireless adapter but it says permission denied when i point the installer to the driver.

Eh i would love to smooth all this out and have smooth sailing from here on out, because i have to say on this machine built in 2005 Windows 7 runs pretty good.

Well ill keep tinkering.

Ok so i uninstalled AVG and installed Microsoft Security Essentials...not bad.

I did a registry defrag and cleaned up some stuff.

I still get a flag notification that i have to address an issue with my ATI driver but i think im screwed with that one.
