...in all that time I've never lost even one bit of data, thanks to a great backup scheme. And in all this time, I've never had to buy even one piece of software. The DOS program "XCOPY" does all my backups for me. * And YES, xcopy still runs, even on Windows 10.
* Xcopy can be programmed to do progressive backups, by only copying new files, and files that have been changed, like an EXCEL Spreadsheet, that changes several times a week.
That also keep my backup time down to just a few seconds.
I also have written a batch file that used Xcopy to do my backups, an Incremental (using the /M switch) or a Full (first use ATTRIB +A *.* /s ).
But I have re-written it to use RoboCopy instead of Xcopy. Both have the /M switch, but RoboCopy is like Xcopy on steroids.
