Solved Correct way to get out of IE options?

Should I click on 'OK' or 'X'? The reason I ask is because I hadn't been able to accomplish the updates for Adobe Flash since version 11.9.900.170. I believe it had been updating itself approx. the same time as Patch Tues. but since that version it hasn't so finally took time earlier this morning to go to Adobe help & was directed to check my IE options, which were set the way the example showed BUT this time I clicked OK where as I believe I usually click X & "lo & behold" shortly after that I tried the update again( for about the 50th try) & it downloaded!

Are you really using IE9 or do you need to update your forum system specs info?

Yes, I'm still IE9, have wanted to go to 10 or 11 but in reading posts here on 7forum it sounds like lots of problems.

Yes, there are issues with IE10 and IE11 especially in business settings were apps run inside the browser. I was just wondering what version of IE gave you trouble via the web download - now I know

I have trouble getting IE11 to download flash. I thought that it was just an IE11 thing. Good to hear that it is the adobe/flash website that is bad.

I've started downloading the beta version where I can get an installer to download.

Instead of downloading a file that downloads another file...

Flash seems to only tell me about updates if I restart the computer even if the updater checks every hour. Some day, I should look into that. You might be seeing the Flash update because you restart on patch Tuesdays.

I think you misunderstood me, I'm under the impression that it was my fault in that I probably X'd out of options instead of clicking OK button, I'm not blaming Adobe site. Also, there has been at least a couple Flash updates that haven't worked on past Patch days so am sure it was my fault.

I'm not smart enough to mess around with anything beta. I did want to go with IE10 or 11 for 'better safety' though.

Yep - I got it wrong. Thanks for posting back.

It was a simple thing for me to test, but I've never taken the time to do so. IE11 works fine with this adobe/flash download website (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) as long as you turn off the high level of popup blocking.



And uncheck unwanted offers

yup, that's where I ran into trouble, could never get past step 2 until I 'accidentally' 'OK'd' out instead of my usual 'Xing' out. And yes, I'm always on the lookout for unwanted offers.
