Counter strike 1.6 issue

Hi I have a problem with cs 1.6. When I move around there is this transparent bar that rolls up and down my screen, its horizontal and takes up the whole screen width. It pretty thin and sometimes unnoticable, but when it rolls down near the middle it gets really annoying.

Someone in game said that my graphics card might be broken, but its brand new and runs like a charm for everything else. Its a 5000 series ATI, can't remember it's name exactly. Everything else about my computer and the game are fine.

Any ideas?

It does sound like a graphics card related problem.
The card can function and still have problems. They can also arrive new with damage. ...it happens.

You've probably already done this but go ahead and reinstall the latest video driver for you card. linke below.

(just knowing it's a 5 series should be enough to get through that)

I'm thinking it's possible you are using the driver that came with the new card. That's very often a bad idea. Always download directly.
