Currently only ancellary program running is IE64 and CPU usage monitor. Just scrolling up and down on the page causes CPU usage to spike from these ranges

Core 1: 0%-33%
Core 2: 2%-66%

CPU temp showing no issues either @ a steady 24-29*C

open iTunes, anything from the Adobe suite, outlook, and the usage problem only gets worse. (nearing 90+%)

have run defender, MS security essentials, trendmicro

all reported no threats.

is 64 bit 7 just an unstable OS? My machine is NOT cluttered with sketchy programs. Seldom have anything more than iTunes, IE, Outlook, Word or Excel running...

running a program that's actually somewhat intensive would be cringe-worthy

my far less powerful Macbook runs Windows Vista 32 with much, much less effort.

The machine is certainly set up to run 64 bit 7...

4gb ram, E6600, GeForce 9 series graphics card, Gigabyte GA-EP mobo

CPU is NOT overclocked or overheating.
