Creating an installation disc - Help please

Okay I've been trying this for a few days reading guides my friend gave me to attempt this. He admits that he wasn't 100% sure the best way to do it because he hasn't attempted this with Windows 7 or Vista because Vista and 7 don't use boot.ini and stuff.. Anyway, I would like some help creating an installation disc of Windows x86 Proffesional using a .wim of the OS already used and such. If anyone can help I'll be really greatful of your help.

So far I read and followed this guide Sysprep a Windows 7 Machine – Start to Finish - Blog.BrianLeeJackson.com and then used this command to make it capable of burning onto a disc.

cdimage.exe -lWindows7 -m -u2 -bi:\winpe_x86\etfsboot.com i:\winpe_x86 g:\Windows7


Um, I did have a BootMgr error but I copied the bootmgr off the original installation and inserted in "i:\winpe_x86"

Whether what I've done or what I have been doing is the right steps I don't know. So far I believe I'm getting somewhere, when I boot up on the disc I now get this error which I defiantly am unaware of how to solve.

File:\Boot\BCD
Status: 0xc000000f

If anyone can help me then please do, if you need more information just say and I'll provide as much as can. I know I've already said this but what I'm trying to do is make a bootable DVD of my 2nd OS, Windows 7 x86 Pro so when I insert the disc on another computer it installs it exactly as how I have it on my current system.

The links you've supplied were unable to help me unfortunatly; or I couldn't recognise anything that I needed. Basically this is hoe my current system stands.

I have my main OS which I'm doing all the work on which is Windows 7 x64 Professional, I've made it dual bootable but with a x86 version. What I have done so far is use the sysprep method to create this: (The "I" drive is where my x86 lives currently)

From that I've used Imagex to capture an image of the x86 OS which created a .wim file for me. From there, I moved the .wim file to "i:\winpe_x86\ISO\sources\"

Whether thats right or not I don't actually know, but it seemed to accept it. After I created the .wim image of my x86 OS I wanted to make it a disc image so I can put it on a disc and make it bootable. So I used the command I previous stated:

cdimage.exe -lWindows7 -m -u2 -bi:\winpe_x86\etfsboot.com i:\winpe_x86 g:\Windows7

From this CMD command I get a UDF structure so I can burn it to a disc, which works fine. I get the disc, reboot my system and the system boots off the disc and gives me the following error:

File:\Boot\BCD
Status: 0xc000000f

It mentions if found an error within the boot configuration. This part I haven't the foggiest whats wrong or how to fix it. I just hope I got the message across right for help.

Windows 7 won't allow you to install to a disk any more than it will allow you to install to an external drive. Otherwise the OS would be portable and move from computer to computer, and MS can't have that.

You can of course image the HDD and clone or copy it to any other HDD, even using Win7 Backup Imaging. I use Paragon Partition Manager and copy partitions which will then boot.

Now this is what I was original planning.. Though my friend said that there would be hardware issues.. I'll try and finish this method off finally. Hopefully it'll be a simple process of gimagex and stuff that I've been doing on my PC. Thanks.
