The keyboard shortcut WinKey + E opens up windows explorer. Is it possible to make your own custom keyboard shortcuts with the windows key? I've not had any success in mapping the Windows Key.

Hello Cyborg31,

My name is Dhiren and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell.

The windows key is by default mapped to perform other functions(shortcuts) within windows .
Please refer to the below mentioned link for the list of available shortcuts for windows key . The list is available under the "Windows logo keyboard shortcuts "Tab.

Keyboard shortcuts

However, You can customize a combination of other keys to open other programs.
The below mentioned link can be of assistance.

Create keyboard shortcuts to open programs

Alternatively ,you can also download third party applications line Autohotkey, perfect keyboard ,etc. available over the internet to create and customize various shortcuts or macro as desired.

Hope you find this post useful.
