Creative Sound Card Problem Thread

I thought about what would make it easier for creative to actually get around to fixing what is wrong with the drivers for not just my card but all of the brand manufacturers cards which are creative products.

And, to be able to have all of these Creative cards in a single format that will allow them to see which cards are still having an issue with Windows 7.

Please list your card details completely including your motherboard.

I'm using an X-Fi Titanium and for some reason the drivers are only running in 32 bit mode. My mobo is a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3.

My sound distorts at times, but cuts out completely in games after a few minutes. I have stuttering radio sounds in Fallout 3. Tried various drivers.

On another forum they mentioned installing drivers in compatability mode which i haven't tried. Vista doesn't have this issue at all so it's win 7 related.

I perhaps along with everyone else has already exhausted trying compatibility mode both tab wise as well as trouble shooting wise.

Not to mention that w7 is backwards compatible anyways with vista. At least it is suppose to be.

The issue is not w7 it is creative not providing a strong driver for w7.

Yet...

I don't see how that can be when there is no problem with the drivers in Vista.

As Daniel K. say it on the Creative Forum. There's little change in the audio stack between Vista and Seven.
The driver modele is the same, but as the audio stack is different, it can bring trouble if the driver are not well adapted

I don't see how that can be when there is no problem with the drivers in Vista.

As LePoilu said there are slight differences in w7 in terms of the audio drivers. It is not exactly the same as it was in vista.

As Daniel K. say it on the Creative Forum. There's little change in the audio stack between Vista and Seven.
The driver modele is the same, but as the audio stack is different, it can bring trouble if the driver are not well adapted

I would imagine that creative will have to come up with a highly compatibile audio driver that adapts better with w7.

I cant seem to load on a Driver for mine...

Sound card: Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme
Motherboard: Gigabyte EP35-DS4

I to had a bit of difficulty in getting the old(stock w7)driver out and the newer un-official Daniel K. driver in, which once installed still does not bring w7 to recognize the creative cards console features.

I have been using the stock bare audio features of w7, which is like going back in time to mono from stereo.

Really it's worse than that...it's kinda like going from an orchestra to an indian pow wow...not that there's anything wrong with the pow wow en vivo...just a figure of speech.

As we all become vocal about these audio issues with creative cards in this and other threads it allows the guys over at creative to get down to implementing a solution.

If you wait on Creative for good driver you will wait a long time.
When I see what they done (or not done) for Vista...

I do wait on Daniel K futurs drivers pack. It's more sur.

Yes, Daniel K is 'very' good at what he does. Hopefully, his next driver will make all of our cards features work well.

I would love to have my creative console usage back, really sounded so much better you know?

Ok for Audigy 2 users try this, Search/Sound/Speakers/advanced, change from 16bit DVD quality to 24bit studio quality. Give it a try.

In Fact I never use audio console & cie. All what I need is a good driver for listening my music with good quality (no distorsion, no gap, etc).

Maybe can I use equalizer.. some times.. but it's once a year, no more :D
