Hello Everyone,
Can you help with the below?

At the moment I have the system spec at the bottom of this post. When I try to run Crysis in any resolution I get a fairly stuttery performance in crossfire but when I run it on the single HD5870 (the powercolor card) it runs pretty smooth at 1920x1080 (i think thats it - I'm in work now so cant check!!), 2 x anti aliasing, all settings to high and v-sync on.
I have updated all my catalyst drivers to the latest ones and have the latest profiles and yet Crysis is still been a pain!!!. I have also removed all the drivers and used driver sweep to remove them completely before reinstalling them and still stuttery perfomance in Crysis. I know this game is a pain but surely the crossfire should work better than a single card?
It's only this game that causes me problems. All my other games including Crysis 2 and bad company 2 have no problems in crossfire at max settings.
Can anyone advise a fix or as whether its worth my while selling these carda dn purchasing a single GPU solution such as a GTX 580. Apologies for the lack of grammar here but Im typing this with my manager nearby!

Sorry if i seem slightly fixated with Crysis but its the game that got me into PC gaming building. Can't get enough of it! :D

SPEC

Any help would be appreciated!!!!

did you update Crysis to v1.21?
Hi there,
Unfortunately whenever I've updated to V1.21 (i've updated to 1.2 only) I have not been able to launch the game from Windows 7 64 Bit. Basically it goes blank then crashes to desktop. however its been over a year since I last tried so has this been fixed and will the 1.21 patch fix the crossfire issue?

Cheers

I totally understand what you say about Crysis as it's still one of the best looking games out there IMO.
Some info concerning Crysis and crossfire can be found here:

Have you tried the latest 11.4 preview driver?

http://www2.ati.com/DRIVERS/hotfix/radeon_6990_antilles/amd_catalyst_11.4_preview_win7_march23.exe
Agreed - Crysis looks great and plays well - so much choice in terms of tatics. Still playing it even though I bough it like 2 years ago or so????.

I'll try the above driver to see if it helps. its just wierd that the crossfire isnt performing as well on this game as it does on others! Even stranger I can now run it at the 1920x1080 res even though before it was slow on a single card previously!

I hope the DX11 patch for Crysis 2 doesn't give my PC a heart attack!

No clue if it works or not, a.) I don't own the game, and b.) I don't run X-fire.

Other than the above, make sure your various drivers are up to speed. And yes, it doesn't run anything else than DX9 at present time - could be the DX11 update will fix some things, but I reckon the X-fire problem is a game issue, and not so much the ATI or DirectX software.

Hope this helps :geek:
