Solved Delete Macrium Reflect registry entry shown in msconfig start up

The adventure continues. Yes I looked at the link. I really hate it when they say "I hope this helps" which has started to get on my nerves.

I had opened task manager as I said to see what was in there: Services? It's not Applications, it's not in Processes, Services aren't even decently _sorted_ to review, and there's only one user showing in the Task Manager. That's all I see. I didn't pick through all the unorganized services.

In regards to the sort order in Services, just click on "Name" and you can order them in ascending and descending order.

I said chasing this in Vista was a huge error because, supposedly, there's also a Startup tab in Task Manager for Win 7 and Win 10 and the Reflect UI is there. However, last night I fired up one of my Win 7 systems and installed the free v7.3 of Macrium Reflect. There is no Reflect UI in the Startup tab of msconfig, only Macrium Services. However, I did find the Reflect Monitor and the Reflect UI .exe files in the Task Manager Processes (I couldn't find a Startup tab). I was using v6.3 in Vista so installed v7.3. Excuse me, I have to reboot to finish the installation. I'll be back.

I said chasing this in Vista was a huge error because, supposedly, there's also a Startup tab in Task Manager for Win 7 and Win 10 and the Reflect UI is there and can be deleted from there. However, last night I fired up one of my Win 7 systems and installed the free v7.3 of Macrium Reflect. There is no Reflect UI in the Startup tab of msconfig, only Macrium Reflect. However, I did find the Reflect Monitor and the Reflect UI .exe files in the Task Manager Processes (I couldn't find a Startup tab). I was using v6.3 in Vista so I installed v7.3. Sure enough, the subject files are located in the same place as in Win 7.

A lot of screwing around trying to see if I could get the Reflect UI in the Startup tab of msconfig and wasn't able to. I didn't bother trying to uninstall to see what happens since I use Macrium Reflect on my Vista system.

I did find that the ReflectUI.exe file is now present in the registry HKLM............Run key and I could delete it, if desired.

Well I don't know where we're headed with this any longer but then how to navigate in regedit to the
desired HKLM entry?

This all started with a different question I had about using System File Checker where it was reporting
a failure to fix a file it saw as in it fixed some things but did not do all.

Run regedit. Just click on each key and subkey to get here- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Right click on the Name for the Reflect entry and select delete.

One thing I noticed this morning is that ReflectUI.exe is no longer in that key. I think it's because I disabled Macrium Reflect in the msconfig Startup tab after I looked in the registry yesterday. You will want to re-enable the Reflect UI there and reboot before trying to delete the registry entry.

I'll try that and report back:

First te-emable Reflect UI

Then look up the Regedit entry.

Success and marked solved.

That was a long one for correction. Reflect and AOMEI like to put stuff in-- what? -- the Autoruns
with no option to clean the entries if you uninstall.

Thanks for the help on this.

My SFC error remains. It will probably stay there forever since the log is so long and would have to be copied into this reply box since it is too large for the Sevenforums attachments.

Great! One down.

Do you have another thread on the SFC problem? Sorry but I'm rushing and didn't look it up. If so, upload the .txt file to a website such as dropbox, wetransfer, one drive and share it. Get a link. Then post the link in that other thread, if there is one. You can post it here if you like.

If I get al reply at this thread:

SFC scannow runs and show partial fix of errors

we can proceed on that if you wish.I did make a Dropbox account though normally I do not like to use off site ways to save things.
You can say how I should use Dropbox. I'm totally green at it.

I will make a fresh Notepad text file of the CS log of SFC. A solve of this may help others as well.
