It is an asus's bloatware, not needed for a computer to run. I'd recommend you to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219576-clean-up-factory-bloatware.html, with a special reference to Point #13
13. Consider a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which is often better than getting a new computer considering how pre-installed bloatware can corrupt Windows 7 even if it's completely cleaned up.
Viewing the age of the bloatware ....
Code:
    Image name: AsDsm.sys
[COLOR=Red]    Timestamp:        Fri Feb 13 11:44:26 2009[/COLOR]
And the age of the computer ...
Code:
BIOS Version/Date    American Megatrends Inc. K52F.210, 30/08/2010
I would prefer a clean einstall at first, and any further troubleshooting later. A clean reinstal is really due after that time.

Quick update:
After googling AsDsm.sys and finding out it was related to ASUS Data Security Manager, I uninstalled ASUS Data Security Manager and up to now everything is working fine.
Thanks to Arc for highliting the issue. Wil keep updated.
Cheers
