Hi, I use Win7 and constantly getting pop ups telling me I can "speed up browsing by disabling add-ons". Then the message asks me to 'choose add-ons", when I click on this, all it shows is McAfee Web Advisor with a Red line showing 0.23 seconds-should I disable or leave as is? Thanks

What browser you are using?
There are many kinds of browser add on. To block pop up windows (normally advertising), to block redirecting to other sites, to block suspicious sites etc.
You should read the McAfee documentation before you do any change to the antivirus or browser settings.

Wheter or not addons speed up or slow down depends on what exactly each addon does.

Generally speaking, antivirus addons tend to have a negative impact on performance (and sometimes, on security too).

Ad blockers are almost always very beneficial to the user, as they block unwanted content (hence, faster load times, incresing privacy too), so having them can result in a faster browser.

Other addons will vary according on what they do exactly, many have no net effect until invoked, other slow you down all the times, and some others might increase performance. There is no general statement about speed vs addons.
