Hey.
For like two months now I get a disconnection every EXACTLY 30 minutes for about 1 second.
It can sometimes happen once or twice, and sometimes it happens for hours (every 30 mins dc)
The message I get is:

PING: transmit failed. general failure

I am assuming you are using the ping command? If so what are you pinging? Is it a website or a device on your network?

Also are you using the -t switch? This would constantly send ICMP ping requests to the device essentially creating a mini DoS attack. Some webservers may disconnect you if they suspect you are trying to attack them which you essentially are with the ping -t command.

A friend told me to type this in "run": pingyahoo.com, and yes i did that -t thing.
Btw, I'm getting disconnections also without running ping command.

Are your disconnections constant/ last for a long period of time or does it happen for a couple of seconds?

May I also ask, do you get disconnections in safe mode with networking? This will help to see if there are any third party applications causing the disconnections.

To enter safe mode with networking simply follow this tutorial (Option one only) - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/69585-safe-mode.html

Please replace any reference of Safe mode with Safe Mode with Networking.

Many Thanks,
Josh! :)

Happens for a second or two.
Today for example my internet only disconnected three times. So I can't really watch PC 24/7 waiting for disconnection to happen.

When you say your internet disconnected, does this happen to all devices? This can help me determine whether it is an issue with your machine or your router

Many Thanks,
Josh
